Master thesis: Strigolactones Mediate Causal Root-microbe interaction in maize
The Emmy Noether Root Functional Biology group is seeking students who have interests on root-microbe interaction in maize. The main purpose of the project is to explore the effects of biosynthesis of Strigolactones on root development and its interaction with soil microbes such as Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi and rhizobacteria in maize. You will learn culture of maize, root phenotyping, morphological and anatomical dissection of root development, root DNA/RNA isolation, next-generation sequencing data analysis.
